The upper reaches, including the world-famous ski resort of Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Sonamarg received a thin layer of fresh snowfall, while rains lashed summer capital, Srinagar, and other plains in Kashmir valley.

A Met department spokesperson said that light to moderate rain would occur at many places during the next 48 hours in the state under the influence of a Western Disturbance (WD) which is active in the region.

The intermittent rains continued in Kashmir since Monday bringing down the temperature in the Valley. The hills across Kashmir also received a fresh Snowfall.
