SRINAGAR: One more militant has been killed after fresh firing resumed between militants and security forces in the Narla area of Rajouri district on Wednesday, bringing the death toll of killed militants to two.

An official told the news agency KS that two unidentified militants have been killed, and their identification is currently being ascertained, while the operation is ongoing in the area.

They added that a soldier and a sniper dog were also killed in the encounter, with three others, including an SPO, injured and subsequently hospitalised.

Earlier, an official stated that a joint team of Police, Army, and CRPF launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) based on specific information regarding the presence of militants in the area.

They noted that as the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants opened fire on them, prompting a retaliatory response and triggering a gunfight.
