SRINAGAR: The Ramban district administration has cautioned residents against a fake WhatsApp and social media account allegedly created using the name and photograph of Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Alyas Khan.
Khan, through a post on his official X account, said the account operating through mobile number 66998857414 was fake and urged people not to respond to or engage with it.
The Deputy Commissioner advised citizens not to share personal information, transfer money or communicate with the account in any manner. He also asked people to report such fake accounts promptly to the concerned authorities.
The district administration further urged residents to verify the authenticity of messages or requests purportedly issued by government officials before sharing personal details or making financial transactions.
The advisory was issued to help prevent people from falling victim to potential cyber fraud.
