With the death of another girl on Saturday night, the death toll in Ramban road accident reaches eight.
On Saturday around 6:00 pm, a vehicle (Tata Sumo) under registration number, JK03A 3777, skidded off the road and plunged into a gorge. The accident resulted in on the spot death of five passengers and three others were seriously injured. The accident occurred when the vehicle was en-route to Alinbass from Ukhral Ramban.
The deceased passengers were identified as Mohammad Iqbal Jaral, Javid Ahmad Jaral (Driver), Tarda Devi, Sanvi Devi and Neelofar Bano.
The injured persons were later removed to a nearby hospital while arrangements were made to airlift them to Jammu for specialized treatment but two among the three injured succumbed to their injuries on way to the hospital. On Saturday night, Rahat Ashraf, one of the injured also succumbed to her injuries taking the death toll to eight.
