Minister for CAPD and Transport Ch Mohammad Ramzan Thursday called SRTC employees to work towards increasing the revenue of the corporation which has seen an improvement in its annual earnings from 36 cr in 2009-10 to Rs 90 cr during 2012-13.

Speaking to a delegation of SRTC employees who called on the Minister here to present their charter of demands for his consideration, Ch Ramzan said that active work culture among the employees will bring vibrancy in the corporation and ensure higher revenue earnings, thereby, directly benefitting the corporation employees by way of meeting expenses out of own resources of the Corporation.

Responding to various demands put forth by the SRTC workers Union including release of DA in favour of the SRTC employees, the Minister announced release of 20% DA in favour of the employees out of own resources of the corporation besides assuring revision in the rates of Trip money for the benefit of the employees.

On the issue of gratuity to employees and regularization of consolidated drivers who have completed the prescribed period, the Minister said the matter will be taken up and decided in the next board meeting. He also assured the delegation that, he will take up the matter of enhancement in the budgetary support and Plan fund for SRTC with the Planning and Finance Departments. He said the process of up-gradation of SRTC workshops and depots has already been taken up and it will be further expedited.
