SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir secured a commanding 182-run victory over Baroda in their Ranji Trophy Elite Group A encounter, booking their place in the quarter-finals on Sunday.
After winning the toss and electing to bat, JK posted a first-innings total of 246. They followed it up with a strong second-innings performance, scoring 284 and setting Baroda a challenging target of 365 runs.
Baroda struggled in their first innings, getting bowled out for 166. Their second innings saw some resistance, but they were reduced to 182/7 by lunch on Day 4, still needing 184 runs for victory. However, they failed to chase the target, as JK’s dominant performance with both bat and ball ensured a comprehensive win and a place in the quarter-finals. (KNO)
