Incumbent MLA Langate Er Rasheed has lashed out at CM Mehbooba Mufti for her remarks that National Conference has been involved in on-going unrest and stone pelting.

While interacting with party workers at Islamabad today, Rasheed in a statement said that whatsoever Mehbooba Mufti has said is nothing new but desperate attempt to reduce the current mass uprising to a battle between PDP and NC.

“Who doesn’t know that almost every lawmaker, minister or a main stream political worker could not bear to stay in his residential house even in the remotest areas of Kashmir, due to the mass-uprising.”

“There was a strong resentment and anger against the “dirty role of main stream parties” for playing like proxies of New Delhi. Mehbooba should learn that Kashmiris are least bothered whether Omar Abdullah rules the state or Mehbooba acts like a rubber stamp,” Rasheed said and added, “By accusing National conference of instigating stone pelting Mehbooba Mufti has tried to kill two birds with one stone.”

Rasheed said that Mehbooba has tried to prove her being more loyal to New Delhi than Omar Abdullah and to create perception that on-going mass apprising is not movement for self-determination but a war of power between NC and PDP.”

Rasheed also expressed surprise over Mehbooba Mufti’s remarks made at Indore Stadium Srinagar that NC leaders have been changing their stance since 1947 only to gain power, as she seems to have forgotten that just a day before at SKIMS she had claimed late sheikh to be the most visionary leader for changing his stance from time  to time and signing Indra Abdullah Accord.”
