Awami Ittihaad Party (AIP) President and MLA Langate Er Rasheed Sunday asked National Conference (NC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to stop befooling Kashmiris over flag and autonomy issue.
“If these parties would have taken a stand from time to time over these issues, New Delhi would have been certainly debating Aazadi and other bigger options, rather making those issues a debate which are already guaranteed by the constitution to J&K,” Rasheed said while addressing public meetings at Sheeri Baramulla and Chandigam Lolab today.
Rasheed accused both NC and PDP of snatching the bargaining power from Kashmiris and rendering them at the mercy of New Delhi for every issue. “Facts and figures reveal that NC and PDP have a history of broken promises and have done nothing except weakening the sentiment and the resistance movement which had nothing to do with the futile issues being raised by PDP and NC without even believing in them. In TV debates and press statements these parties speak with a similar frequency and wave length and try to project themselves as saviours of autonomy but in the real sense beg congress and BJP for the alliance from time to time just to grab power.’’
Appealing people to “own AIP as a vibrant alternate force so that voice of Kashmiris is heard much louder, clear and without confusions”, Rasheed added that non serious attitude and dual character of NC and PDP is facilitating New Delhi and the New Delhi based media to add salt to the injures of Kashmiris.
