President Awami Ittihaad Party (AIP) and MLA Langate Er Rashid Wednesdayasked Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to clear his stand on the reports that huge number of mulberry trees were chopped down in Tral to facilitate his public gathering.

In a press statement issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Rashid said that while CM is habitual of twitting of every issue related to morality aimed at gaining attention, he must answer to his people that how come the authorities committed the ‘illegal act’.

Rashid further stated,”Chief Minister must know that in remote villages and else where the sericulture officials don’t allow to cut down even a rotten mulberry tree that may be causing threat to the life and property of the owner of that tree but they need to beg from office to office to seek permission to cut down the tree and as such Chief Minister should explain that if his visit allows the authorities to do every illegal thing that may please the Chief Minister.”

Rashid said that If Omar twits about misuse of Lal Batti and contrary facilitates an ‘illegal act’ for his political visit; he needs to own the responsibility.
