Independent lawmaker and MLA Langate, Er Rashid Monday while taking part in the discussion in state legislative assembly congratulated retired General VK Singh for what he called “Unmasking the faces”.

Er was taking part in the discussion about the VK Singh revelations. He asked, “Who rejects the role of army in J&K, is not it a fact that army agents like Kuke Parray, Javed Shah and a person of army from Bandipore were a part of the legislative assembly?”

Rashid reveled that army has been misusing the Sadhbhavana money and he has his first hand experience. “They (army) were taking people on forced labour and making them work and take the money home and it happened in Langate for 13 years,” Rashid said.

Rashid also said that politicians get used in settling issues between the people and the army. He mentioned a case from Rafiabad in which the people were seeking action against the army in Ashiq Hussain killing case but the local MLA managed a truce between the people and the army through negotiations.

Rashid said that before summoning VK Singh, the state government should either take action against Hassan Mir or give him clean chit.

Taking part in the discussion CPIM (M) leader, M Y Tarigami, demanded judicial probe into the issue by a Supreme Court Judge.
