President Awami Ittihaad Party (AIP) and MLA Langate Er Rashid has asked government of Pakistan to release 27 truck drivers detained by Pakistani authorities near LoC and has stressed upon it to restrain from doing any such act that can hurt Kashmiris.

Addressing party workers in Pulwama on Sunday he urged upon authorities of both sides on LoC not to encourage the elements who are not only giving a bad name to the trade but are allegedly smuggling drugs across the LoC and demanded full probe and stern action against those involved in the ‘shameful act’.

He accused NC and PDP of working on the agenda of ‘exploiting Kashmiri people’ and ‘playing with their sentiments’.

“Let NC and PDP tell Kashmiris that why even a single meeting has not been held at any level between New Delhi and them even to discuss autonomy or self rule. Before seeking votes this time in the name of autonomy and self rule they must be prepared to answer as why they have not been able to achieve either of them and that too within the constitution of India and how far are they sure that even if India agrees to give them few constitutional concessions, it will satisfy Kashmiri people and government of Pakistan who are the primary party to the dispute,” Rashid said.

He added “Both NC and PDP have contested about four elections in the name of these Delhi made formulas but have not been able to give Kashmiris anything except miseries. If they are really sincere to the people, let them confess their failure and leave aside diluting the resolution of Kashmir issue and focus on their responsibility to solve day to day problems of people.”
