SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir pacer Rasikh Salam Dar is set to accompany India’s men’s cricket team to Japan as a net bowler for the 2026 Asian Games, according to media reports.
The 26-year-old Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fast bowler is one of three players reportedly selected to assist India during its training sessions. The Indian Express first reported the development, while The Times of India named Rasikh and RCB spinner Vicky Ostwal among those chosen.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) pacer Kartik Tyagi is reportedly the third bowler included in the group. The three players are expected to train with the Indian squad and provide bowling practice to the batters during preparations for the Asian Games.
Rasikh earned the opportunity after a strong IPL 2026 season with RCB, where he took 19 wickets from 12 matches. He returned figures of 3/27 in the final against Gujarat Titans and finished as the leading wicket-taker among uncapped players. His best bowling figures during the tournament were 4/24, according to official IPL statistics.
RCB defeated Gujarat Titans by five wickets in the IPL final after limiting them to 155 for eight, with Rasikh contributing with the ball.
India, captained by Shreyas Iyer, will participate in the cricket competition at the 2026 Asian Games in Japan, with the event scheduled to take place from September 17 to October 3.
