Member Parliament and senior NC Leader G N Ratanpuri Friday sanctioned an ambulance for the Government College for Women, M A Road Srinagar.
Ratanpuri was at the College on July 9 to speak on the function with regard to Prime ministers Special Scholarship Scheme. After the function was over he was apprised of the difficulties being faced by the students putting up in the hostel of the College.
The College authorities as well as the girl students putting up in the hostel had informed that the college has no ambulance and in case a student falls ill during night hours, they have to request the hospital authorities for an ambulance which is seldom provided. On this occasion Ratanpuri had assured that he will sanction funds for purchase of the ambulance from his CDF. Accordingly an amount of Rs 2.70 lacs was sanctioned in favour of the Principal for purchase of the ambulance.
