Separatists have strongly reacted to Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s statements in Jammu.
Terming the statement of Ravi Shanker as ridiculous and hilarious, Hurriyat (g) said his remarks regarding the present freedom movement and resistance leadership are baseless and illogical. He was advised to study history afresh, a statement issued here suggested. JKLF leader termed the statement absurd.
The Art of Living founder had organized a conference in Jammu in which he made a series of statement including allegations on the separatists.
Referring to the statement regarding the type of freedom, Hurriyat said that before asking this question, Sri should know about the resolutions of United Nations and promises made by his own political stalwarts, testified by the global forums where more than 18 resolutions stand testimony to the sacred cause, we pursue. It is not the matter of peace and development, rather an issue of life and death related to the basic rights of the people belonging to all parts of state, the statement said.
“Ravi Shankar talks the language of the oppressor within the ambit of their biased and brutal thinking,” the statement said. “Instead, he should have asked this question to the ruthless armed forces killing and maiming our populace for the last 7 decades particularly in the last 5 months.” The statement said there are no takers for his “stale ideology” which he is pleading in the disguise of peace.
Referring to the state rulers, Hurriyat said that they are solely responsible for the miserable and gloomy situation in vale. Referring to the statement about the “cash-cow”, Hurriyat said that this is utter mental and psychological bankruptcy on the so-called peace-man to pave the way for his inclusion as a new and fresh face in the hatchery of collaborator by his masters.

Hurriyat (g) advised the spiritual leader to muster courage to face those blinded, maimed, crippled and caged by his “worthy” forces using the smoke screen of green clad Mufti regime and he will definitely read only the slogan of freedom from every body’s face which will surely enlighten and acknowledge his biased mindset.
Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik termed the allegations as ‘absurd’ and ‘part of false Indian propaganda’. Sri Ravi actually reflects his mental and intellectual bankruptcy, JKLF said in a statement.
“All religions and spiritual institutions teach us how to make distinction between truth and falsehood and always side with the truth but Sri Sri by issuing statements against oppressed people of Jammu Kashmir has actually ignored the very teachings of religion and exposed himself and his credentials,” JKLF statement quoted Malik saying. “Sri should look deep into the teachings of the very religion under the guise of which he is trying to malign the oppressed and glorify the oppressors.”
Malik said the struggle for freedom in Jammu Kashmir is also a battle between truth and falsehood, the oppressor and the oppressed, and Kashmiris in this battle represent truth and justice and are fighting against the Indian falsehood and oppression while giving sacrifices in this battle.
He said that Sri Ravi has turned a blind eye on recent killings by forces; he is not able to feel the pain of thousands of those who have been injured by Indian bullets and pellets. “He is also unable to feel any shame on mass blinding of Kashmiris by Indian forces during last 135 days and is also unaware of agony that ten thousand innocent youth are going through in Indian jails and incarceration centers,” Malik said. “By labelling a mass movement a conspiracy of few wanting to accumulate wealth, he is in complete denial of truth and justice.”
Terming people who participated in the said meeting at Jammu as stooges of RSS, Malik said that these people have actually shown their anti-Muslim and anti-Kashmiri character.
