Most of the polling stations in Budgam district are wearing deserted look as 337 votes have been polled in the 38 polling stations amid extraordinary forces deployment.

Officials said that out of the total 34169 registered voters 0.96 percent votes were cast in the first three hours.

Kashmir observed complete shutdown call on August 09, 2016 while government continued to impose curfew for 32nd consecutive day.

As per officials, in Chadoora, Beerwah 199 and 136 votes have been cast respectively. While as two votes have been polled in Charari Sharief.

Meanwhile, a complete shutdown is being observed in Budgam district over the call of separatist to boycott polls.

Pertinently, more than 50 additional companies of paramilitary and military have been deployed in the Budgam district to ensure that violence like last time can be averted.

Except the poll-bound areas section-144 has been imposed.
