Government on Saturday detained resistance leaders, the day they were scheduled to fly to New Delhi and court arrest at NIA headquarters.

On late friday night, a posse of Police reached JKLF chairperson Yasin Maliks residence and arrested him. He has been detained at Kothi Bagh police station.

Hurriyat (m) chairperson Mirwaiz Umar has been detained at his residence at Nigeen while Octogenarian Geelani is under house arrest at his Hyderpora residence.

The leaders had on Friday said that they would assemble at Geelani residence and then proceed to New Delhi.

State police chief had told newsmen that the police won’t stop the separatists from going anywhere.
