SRINAGAR: The first-ever open art exhibition was held at the newly refurbished Polo View market on Wednesday.

The event, organised by United Youth, aimed to promote art in the Kashmir valley and provide a platform for young artists to exhibit their talents.

A multitude of people participated in the exhibition, greeted by a captivating collection of artworks, each with its own unique story and reflective of the region’s rich cultural heritage.

Live art demonstrations were set up during the event, attracting crowds as young artists passionately brought their visions to life on canvases and other mediums.

“This open art exhibition provided young art enthusiasts with an opportunity to showcase their talents and display it to the world. We hope such events will persist in the future, allowing more art lovers to join and promote art in the public domain,” said Salman Khurshid, a Fine Art student at Kashmir University, speaking to KNS.

“It is a wonderful opportunity for us to exhibit our talent by adding colors to papers and capturing people’s attention. This art form deserves significant recognition and priority so that younger generations can embrace it wholeheartedly,” said Arifa Rashid, a young Calligrapher. (KNS)
