Governor N N Vohra Tuesday addressed Arun Jaitely, Union Minister for Finance, and requested him for urgent release of funds due to the State.
The Governor has elicited the Minister’s intervention to get released: Rs 800 crore for providing interest subvention to the traders and business enterprises who were adversely affected by the floods; the last installment of State’s share in the Central Taxes (2015-16); Rs.649 crore due as the last instalment under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) and Rs 305 crore under MGNREGA, an official spokesperson said this afternoon.
The Governor has once again thanked Union Finance Minister for releasing Rs 1194 crore for disbursement of relief to the flood affected house owners. He informed the latter that as of now almost Rs 1000 crore has been disbursed to the entitled persons.
