While Valley resumed normal routine on Monday after three days of shutdown against Gool Killings, reports are coming that some parts of Kashmir are observing spontaneous shutdown against alleged arrest of youth by police and paramilitary forces and “ransacking of window panes and furniture”.

Reports said that Sumbal area in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district and Tral in South Kashimr’s Pulwama are observing shutdown.

The people of Sumbal area are protesting the arrest of youth by government forces, reports informed.

“Some youth have been arrested by police and paramilitary forces,” a local from the area informed the Kashmir Life over phone, adding, “complete shutdown is being observed in the area.” Shops and business establishment are completely shut down, as per locals.

Locals in Tral alleged that paramilitary forces “ransacked their houses and broke whatever came their way”. “The area is observing shutdown against the high handedness of security agencies,” local residents from Tral informed KL. “The police and CRPF went berserk and broke windows and furniture.”

While little traffic is plying on roads, shops and business establishments have been shuttered down.
