SRINAGAR: The rescue operation by the authorities on Thursday resumed for the second consecutive day to trace the body of a man who drowned in the River Jhelum near, Pampore yesterday, officials said.
An official said that a man drowned in the River Jhelum near Leterbal, Pampore on Wednesday and since then, rescue teams have been carrying out extensive search operations to trace or retrieve his body.
He said that today, on the second day, the operation was again continued to trace the man, who was later identified as Khursheed Ahmad, son of Mushtaq Ahmad, a resident of DH Pora, Kulgam.
The operation was resumed early this morning and is continuing, he added. (KNC)
