SRINAGAR: Police in Shopian district of south kashmir on Saturday attached a single-storey residential house in the Barbugh Imamsahib area, valued at Rs 18.88 lakh, as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation.
The property, registered under Khasra No. 126, belongs to Mushtaq Ahmad Khanday, a local resident. Police said the action is linked to FIR No. 02/2026 registered at Police Station Imamsahib under relevant provisions of law.
According to police, the house was allegedly acquired through proceeds of illegal drug sales and has been attached as part of efforts to curb drug-related activities.
The operation was carried out in the presence of a police team along with an Executive Magistrate, Lambardar and Chowkidar to ensure legal compliance.
Police said the step is aimed at dismantling the financial infrastructure of drug networks and reiterated their commitment to strict action against those involved in narcotics trafficking.
