Teachers’ community Friday held protest demonstration in Srinagar and all other districts headquarters against the government move to conduct screen test for Rehbar-e-Taleem (ReT) teachers all across Jammu and Kashmir.

A large number of teachers including under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum assembled at Press Enclave Srinagar and denounced the government decision. The protesting teachers warned that if government did not change its mind, the teachers all across state will hit to streets on daily basis. Some teachers were seen in shrouds during the protest march.

Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum provincial president Muhammad Afzal Bhat said that teachers organized protest marches at every district headquarter including Kulgam, Islamabad, Shopian, Ganderbal, Budgam, Baramulla, Bandipora and Kupwara.

Meanwhile Teacher’s Forum president Abdul Qayoom Wani told CNS that a mass protest will be organized against the government decision in all the three divisions of Jammu and Kashmir. “We have decided in a meeting that on 18 August this month mass protest will be organized in Kashmir (Directorate of School Education Office), Jammu (Press Club) and in Leh and Kargil simultaneously,” he said and added that if government did not take its decision back, then teachers will come on roads.

Wani said that the normal work in schools will resume from Saturday.
