Rehbar-e-Taleem (ReT) teachers on Monday held a protest demonstration to press for implementation of 7th pay commission and de-linking of their salary from Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), on Monday afternoon.

Hundreds of teachers led by chairman Jammu and Kashmir Rehbar-e-Taleem Teachers Forum Farooq Ahmad Tantray assembled at Press Enclave and staged a protest.

The teachers under the aegis of Jammu Kashmir Rehbar-e-Taleem Teachers Forum assembled at press enclave and were led by Chairman Farooq Ahmad Tantray. Shouting slogans in favour of their demands and against State Government, the protesters demanded the implementation of seventh pay commission and de-linking of their salary from MHRD.

The protesting teachers warned the Government of prolonged agitation if their demands are not met.  “We will launch a sit-in protest in Jammu from December 10, if our demands are not fulfilled on time, said one of the protesting teachers.

They also demanded regularization of ReT teachers who have completed their five-year term. “Despite raising our voice time and again, no initiatives have been taken by the state government,” they said.
