SRINAGAR: A 62-year-old retired government employee was found hanging at his residence in the Wussan area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Thursday, in what police are treating as a suspected case of suicide.
The deceased, who had retired from the Floriculture Department, was a resident of Wussan. His identity has not been disclosed.
Police reached the residence after the incident was reported and began an investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the death.
The body was taken into custody and is being dealt with in accordance with the prescribed legal and medico-legal procedures.
Further proceedings are under way as police investigate the circumstances leading to the death.
