Government on Friday announced the appointment of retired high court judge, retired Justice M L Koul, to head the judicial commission to probe the recent civilian killings in Shopian.
“Government has appointed retired Justice M L Koul to probe the Shopian Killings,” Law and parliamentary Affairs Minister, Mir Saifu-ulla informed the legislative assembly during zero hour in response to a query raised by PDP president Mehbooba Mufti.
The Minister assured the house that the shifting of CRPF camp in Gagren will be completed soon.
Five persons were killed in CRPF firing in Shopian on September 7 and 11 in two different incidents.
Chief Minister, Omar Abdulah had on the very first day of the ongoing legislative session announced a judicial probe into the Shopian killings.
