Congress meet on May 21, 2016

Describing the remarks of Union Power Minister Piyush Goyal regarding J&K Government’s demand for return of power projects “as a setback to the State”, JKPCC Chief G A Mir Saturday said that it was the “result of politics of exploitation and treachery” on part of ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Mir was addressing a public meeting at Kund (Qazigund) in district Kulgam today.

Denouncing PDP for “misleading” the people on various issues, PCC Chief said, “the refusal by Union Power Minister is a real set back to the state. It has exposed the political drama being staged by PDP with regard to return of Power projects  to the State.”

“It has become a habit on the part of PDP to mislead and betray the people on certain issues like revocation of AFSPA, the just refused return of Power Projects and other issues concerning state,” he said.

Seeking explanation from PDP over the issue, PCC Chief said that Minister’s statement was the result of “blatant lies and political gimmicks” of coalition government led by PDP and indicative of “complete failure” of the government. “The tall claims with regard to overall development of the State by state government have fallen flat.”

Taking a dig at Chief Minister over the silence being maintained by her, PCC Chief said, “in order to further the political ambitions PDP leadership has surrendered the genuine demands and just rights to the BJP. What is Mehbooba Mufti doing in the CM’s Chair when her demands are being rejected one by one? Where is Agenda of Alliance on which PDP is playing a lot of politics aiming to mislead the people, for the sake of power?”

Congress organized a blood donation camp on May 21, 2016 at party headquarters in Srinagar.

Referring to the other issues, PCC Chief said, “coalition government has adopted an oblivious attitude towards the problems people are facing, as a result, the people in all the three regions have become victims of the misrule by PDP-BJP coalition.”

Meanwhile, on 25th death anniversary of former Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi, Congress organized a blood donation camp at Party Headquarters, Srinagar. “Dozens of Congress Party activists and leaders donated blood.”
