A 28-year-old man died after a portion of the river bank collapsed and fell on him during sand extraction in Fatehpora area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district Monday morning.
Police said that Irfan Ahmed Malla, resident of Fatehpora Ganderbal died while he was extracting sand from the nallah.
He was shifted to a hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident, said the official.
