A driver of a passenger vehicle died while nine other passengers suffered injuries after a vehicle they were travelling in met an accident in Pulwama district on Wednesday.
Eyewitnesses said that the driver, identified as Gulzar Lone of Ratnipora, died while nine other passengers have suffered injuries.
Reports said that the vehicle, Sumo, collided with a Poplar tree at Pinglena village.
Two of the injured have been shifted to Srinagar for treatment.
Later, police said five persons were injured in different road accidents across the valley.
In Kupwara, two motorcycles (JK01W-2566 and PB10BL-6161) collided at Kandi, Karnah, resulting in injuries to a pillion identified as Irshad Aziz son of Muktha Awzan resident of Kandi Payeen.
Meanwhile, an Alto-800 vehicle (JK09A/5292) hit and injured a pedestrian identified as Abdul Qayoom Sheikh resident of Hajinar at Bagh Bela, Karnah. The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment. Kupwara police has registered cases regarding these accidents.
In Sopore, an Alto-800 vehicle (JK05E-7321) met with an accident at Hathlangoo, resulting in injuries to a girl. The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment. Sopore police has registered a case in this regard.
In Islamabad, a Tata Mobile vehicle (JK02AK-9043) hit and injured a cyclist identified as Huzaib Ahmad resident of Manzhama, Sarnal at Sarnal. The injured was shifted to District Hospital Anantnag for treatment. Anantnag police has registered a case in this regard.
In Kulgam, a Trailer (JK02AV-7144) collided with a Tractor (JK13-3250) on National Highway near Vessu, Mir Bazaar, resulting in injuries to driver of the Tractor. The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment. A case has been registered in this regard.
