The road passing through North Kashmir’s Hajan town caved in early Friday thus disrupting the vital connectivity in the area.
Speaking to Kashmir Life, anguished locals told Kashmir Life that a patch of road around 100 metre of length breached at Sheikh Mohalla in Hajin area putting the surrounding area in danger. The road connecting Hajin with Bandipora and other areas passes on the right bank of river Jehlum.
“The breach has destroyed the main road in the village,” a local Farooq Ahmad said. “After September 2014 floods there are many instances when the river Bund breached in Hajan area.”
Locals alleged that the team of experts and officials have visited the area a couple of times to take stock of the situation but “they have not done anything practical to protect the bund from breaching”.
