Road Side Utilities To Be Removed For Better Traffic Management: Farooq Shah

To ensure hassle free transport facilities besides better road connectivity for the people of Srinagar city, the deputy commissioner, Srinagar, Farooq Ahmad Shah has said that efforts have already been put in place for which results are eminent on the ground. He has also released Rs 3 lakh for shifting of utilities on the roadsides for better traffic management.

As per a statement Shah while convening a meeting of officers to review the arrangements being put in for better traffic management in the district has said asked his officers to remove all the bottlenecks on the roads including construction material of government as well as public within seven days for smooth ply of traffic on the roads of Srinagar city. He has also directed for replacing of worn out electric poles and pipes besides shifting of other utilities for the said purpose.

A committee under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar with Joint Commissioner SMC, SEs of PDD, PHE, R&B and Additional Deputy Commissioner as members was constituted on the occasion for carrying out constructions within the city.
