Bandipora-Gurez road in North Kashmir and Sinthan-Kishtwar road in South Kashmir were closed Monday for traffic due to slippery road conditions, following below freezing temperature.

Traffic police officials said the Bandipora-Gurez road connecting dozens of villages including those near the Line of Control (LoC) with district headquarter has been closed due to slippery road conditions.

With Kashmir’s upper reaches recently receiving moderate to heavy snowfall, authorities also closed Sinthan-Kishtwar road to avoid road mishaps.

But despite slippery conditions, the 434-km-long Srinagar-Leh Highway, historic Mughal roads and the 300-km-long Srinagar-Jammu National Highway were through for both ways.
