In an effort to provide immediate necessary relief to Frislan fire victims, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad on Thursday visited the affected families and distributed 15,000 rupees each to the suffering households.

Deputy Commissioner, Farooq Ahamd Shah, said that the amount was the part of State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) and 60 cft timber will also be provided to each household. He said that providing immediate and necessary relief to the victims is the responsibility of the district administration.

“We are in contact with the victims of fire and are looking for the all possible options to help them in these unfortunate times. We’re aware of their conditions and our efforts are going on to minimize their pain at this juncture”, Shah said.

Pertinently, at least 55 structures, including 46 residential houses, were gutted in a devastating fire that broke out on last Sunday morning in Frislan village, 10 kms from world famous tourist resort of Pahalgam in south Kashmir.
