SRINAGAR: Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary informed the Legislative Assembly that Rs 27.245 lakh has been provided as relief to fire-affected families in Eidgah constituency during the 2024–25 and 2025–26 financial years.
Replying to a calling attention by MLA Mubarik Gul, he said 14 fire incidents were reported in the constituency over the past two years, with prompt response and rescue efforts by the administration helping prevent further damage.
He said relief was disbursed under SDRF norms to affected households, including assistance for fully and partially damaged houses, huts and a cowshed.
The Deputy Chief Minister added that recent fire incidents reported in 2026 are under consideration, and eligible beneficiaries will be provided relief on priority as per norms.
