SRINAGAR: North Kashmir’s Baramulla district has received Rs 3 crore from NITI Aayog in recognition of its progress in inclusive growth and transformative governance under the Aspirational District Programme (ADP).
This achievement highlights the district’s efforts in improving key development indicators and enhancing residents’ quality of life.
In financial inclusion, Baramulla has increased registrations under the PMJJBY and PMSBY insurance schemes through awareness campaigns, strengthening financial security for marginalized communities.
Skill development initiatives have expanded training programs to empower women and persons with disabilities, providing sustainable livelihood opportunities.
To promote digital literacy, the District Administration has organized camps, particularly in remote areas, equipping citizens with essential digital skills and improving access to government services.
Regular monitoring and inspections have ensured the effective implementation of these initiatives, maximizing their impact.
The Rs 3 crore award from NITI Aayog will further support the district’s development efforts. The funds will be strategically utilized to strengthen ongoing initiatives, introduce new projects, and address key developmental challenges, ensuring continued progress in Baramulla.
