Addressing the attendees at the ceremony, LG Sinha highlighted the significance of the 500-bedded health facility, which is slated to be built with an investment of Rs 558.66 crore. He emphasised that the hospital will not only provide state-of-the-art medical services but also contribute to the local economy by generating employment opportunities for the youth and healthcare professionals. Furthermore, the establishment of the medical college will result in the creation of an additional 100 MBBS seats, thus nurturing the next generation of medical professionals.

“The Areesha Royal Hospital and Medical College is poised to become a hub for medical education and research, adding to the knowledge and expertise in the healthcare sector,” stated Sinha, underlining the institution’s dual role in advancing both healthcare delivery and education.

He lauded the collaborative efforts that made the project possible and expressed his contentment with the private sector’s involvement in augmenting the medical infrastructure. “This achievement is a significant milestone in our commitment to foster private investment in medical infrastructure, ensuring that modern, integrated, and high-quality healthcare services are accessible to the residents of Jammu and Kashmir,” he remarked.

Drawing attention to the larger vision of healthcare progress, LG noted, “Under the visionary guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, Jammu and Kashmir is establishing a healthcare ecosystem that is centred around the needs of the people, enhancing inclusivity and accessibility, particularly in the remote regions.”

He went on to affirm the administration’s dedication to promoting health equity across all sections of society. The Medicity project, according to the LG, marks a substantial step toward delivering accessible, affordable, and top-notch healthcare services while also positioning Jammu and Kashmir at the forefront of healthcare innovation.

Notably, this establishment is the third private-sector hospital project in Jammu and Kashmir. Officials informed that two more such projects are in the pipeline – one each in the Jammu and Kashmir divisions – emphasising the commitment to enhancing the region’s healthcare infrastructure.

Areesha Royal Hospital Private Limited is a Srinagar based private incorporated company that started in November 2020. Its directors are Aamir Ali Bhat, Arshid Ahmed Bhat, and Burhan Tariq Reshie.
