In a bid to ensure public convenience while safeguarding people from the scorching temperatures, the RTO has launched a dedicated WhatsApp helpline. The move is aimed at facilitating the seamless delivery of transport-related services while minimising physical footfall at the office.

According to an official communiqué issued by the RTO, citizens facing any grievance, issue or requiring assistance pertaining to transport services have been advised to submit their complete details via WhatsApp on 9622002432.

The RTO has assured that all grievances will be redressed within a stipulated time frame of 48 hours. “If any additional information or documents are required, the applicant will be informed through a reply on WhatsApp itself,” the notice read.

The public has been earnestly requested to make use of this digital facility and avoid unnecessary visits to the office during the prevailing heatwave conditions.

The advisory comes a day after Kashmir recorded the highest temperature of the season at 35.4 degree celsius.  (KNS)
