RTO Kashmir Issues Advisory for Renewal of Vehicle Fitness Certificates

   

SRINAGAR: The Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Kashmir on Friday issued a public notice directing all commercial and transport vehicle owners to undergo mandatory fitness inspection at least two months before the expiry of their existing Fitness Certificates.

According to the notice, the directive aims to ensure timely renewal of certificates and to prevent penalties or inconvenience caused by delay. The RTO has advised vehicle owners to check the validity of their Fitness Certificates and to produce their vehicles before the designated Board of Inspection for testing if the certificate is due to expire within the next two months.

The RTO warned that vehicles presented for inspection after the expiry of the Fitness Certificate will be subject to penal action and payment of the prescribed late fee.s.

It further emphasised that timely renewal is crucial to avoid penalties and to ensure that all vehicles operating on the roads meet safety and environmental standards.
