SRINAGAR: A wave of anxiety again swept through different corners of Kashmir as locals rushed to petrol pumps, stirred by swirling rumours of an imminent fuel shortage. Swiftly addressing the rising concerns, the Jammu and Kashmir Oil Tankers Association stepped up to calm the fears.

The J&K Oil Tankers Association made it crystal clear – no strike call had been issued, dispelling the circulating notions of imaginary ‘Hartaal’ calls.

In a bid to reassure the public, the association clarified that there was no official confirmation of a petrol shortage, aiming to ease the growing apprehensions.

This fuel-related frenzy took centre stage against the recent backdrop of a nationwide “Chaka Jam.”

Just a few days ago, drivers across India joined forces in a collective protest against new accident laws, adding an extra layer of complexity to the current situation in Kashmir.
