With just a few inches of snow the power setup has crumbled leading to snapping of electricity to the city areas.

The 33000 KV transmission lines from Pampore and Bemina grids have encountered technical snags at some places due to snowfall.

An engineer of Power Development department told Kashmir Life that the lines have cut due to the tumbling of trees at several places.

Besides, the Cheshma Shahi line has also encountered fault.

The engineer said that it will take at least 5 hours to restore the electricity transmission lines.

Srinagar city is reeling without electricity since morning.
