Muttihida Majlis-e-Ulema (MMU) Chief and Hurriyat Conference (m) chairperson, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has paid glowing tributes to Hazrat Syed Abdul Qadir Jeelani (RA) on his annual Urs.
In a statement issued here, Mirwaiz termed Syed Abdul Qadir Jeelani (RA) as a great spiritual and religious leader who has always been revered and respected by the people of Kashmir and the Muslim Ummah.
He said the teachings of prominent religious figure brought a spiritual revolution in Kashmir by imparting the principals of Islam and bringing in reforms in the society in tandem with the Islamic principles.
Mirwaiz on Sunday January 8, 2017 will deliver a sermon at the shrine of Sheikh Syed Abdul Qadir Jeelani (RA) at Khanyar after Dhur (afternoon) prayers and shed light on the life, teachings and contributions of Hazrat Sheikh Syed Abdul Qadir Jeelani.
