Former CM and National Conference working president, Omar Abdullah, Monday dared his successor CM Ms Mehbooba Mufti to file a police against him if “his statements were wrong” viz-a-viz establishment of Sainik Colony in Kashmir.

Omar posted a picture of an official document which was used by The Indian Express in its story about the proposal of Sainik Colony in Kashmir.

Earlier, in her interaction with media at civil secretariat here after receiving “guard of honour” on the occasion of opening of Darbar in Srinagar, CM Mehbooba had suggested Omar “not to repeat his mistake today”.

“Since Omar Abdullah is not a common man but has been a chief minister, I hope that Omar does not repeat his mistake today in which he has referred to some papers (about Sainik Colony),” Mehbooba had said.

Omar recently at a party meet in Baramulla had said that the proposed “Sainik Colony” would “compromise the special status of J&K”. “The State Government’s proposal to go ahead with allocating hundreds of kanals of land in the Valley for a proposed ‘Sainik Colony’ could be a ruse to settle non-State-subjects in Kashmir and hence bypass Article 370,” he had said.
