The chief minister Omar Abdullah, Monday revealed that Peoples Conference (PC) chairman, Sajad Gani Lone is sending his supporters from Kupwara to Srinagar to make PM Modi’s election rally a success.

“@abdullah_omar: So @sajadlone is sending about 80 vehicles of supporters from Kupwara to help his “big brother” make up the numbers,” teweeted Omar.

Former separatist Lone, who is contesting elections from Handwara assembly segment, is the son of late Hurriyat leader Abdul Gani Lone. Sajad’s elder brother, Bilal Gani Lone is an executive member of Mirwaiz led Hurriyat conference. Sajad recently met Modi in New Delhi and called him as “elder brother”.

Omar also revealed that people are being brought to Srinagar from Banihal by train to participate in Modi’s election rally.

“@abdullah_omar: 2 trainloads of supporters are being brought in from Banihal in Jammu. Why not just have the rally there?,” asks Omar.

Omar added,“@abdullah_omar: Amazingly even Cong supported “leaders” have been asked to contribute people to the BJP rally. Politics makes for strange bedfellows :-)”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address his maiden election rally in Kashmir amid unprecedented security cover.

Srinagar, where Modi is scheduled to hold his first rally since taking charge as the Prime Minister, has been turned into fortress to avoid any untoward incident.

The security officials have placed a tight security cordon in the areas where the Prime Minister is scheduled to address rally.
