SRINAGAR: Minister for Education, Sakeena Masood Itoo, chaired a high-level meeting to review the functioning of the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE).
Sakeena Itoo directed JKBOSE officials to ensure that the results for Classes 10th, 11th, and 12th are declared by the end of this month.
The minister told officials that timely results would prevent academic delays, allowing students to transition smoothly into their next classes without losing valuable study time.
She reviewed key aspects of JKBOSE’s functioning, including examination processes, curriculum updates, and IT advancements.
Itoo stressed the need to modernise the board’s infrastructure, streamline administrative procedures, and adopt advanced technological solutions to enhance efficiency and accessibility in the education system.
She also highlighted the significance of equitable and inclusive education, particularly for Children With Special Needs (CWSN).
The minister directed officials to intensify awareness programmes and ensure the effective implementation of special provisions, including exam fee exemptions, a 5% relaxation in pass percentages for board exams, and flexible academic policies for students with disabilities.
She further instructed the Directors of School Education in Jammu and Kashmir to collaborate closely with JKBOSE to enhance the education sector across the region.
Itoo underlined the importance of continuous stakeholder engagement, proactive policy measures, and student-centric reforms to uplift academic standards.
During the meeting, the JKBOSE Secretary presented a comprehensive report on the board’s initiatives, particularly the introduction of IT-based interventions to facilitate students. (JKNS)
