Describing the killing of Shakil Ahmed Kasana as ‘cold blooded murder’, United Jihad Council Chairman Syed Salahudin Thursday said, “Shakil was killed by police in custody and it shows the cowardice of Jammu and Kashmir police.”

As per a statement delivered to a local news agency, CNS, Syed Salahudin said that Shakil was a valiant militant commander who was apprehended by police with the help of a group of traitors.

“Our Mujahid was killed by police in cold blood during the holy month of Ramzan. History will never forget these killers and they have to answer one day. Shakil was not only religious but a man of conviction and I salute him by the core of my heart,” Salahudin said.

He has also criticized the government of India for awarding lifer to two Kashmiri youth Shiekh Imran and Shiekh Farhat and said that freedom struggle would be taken to its logical conclusion.

Meanwhile, Hizb spokesperson Salim Hashmi told CNS on phone that Syed Salahudin has supported the three days strike call given by Syed Ali Geelani against the Gool Ramban incident. “We condemn the discretion of Holy Quran and killings of innocents Muslims in the region by Indian troopers,” he said.
