No vehicle can be sold by any Trade Certificate Holder (Authorized dealer) unless the model of the vehicle is introduced into the transport system of J&K and it is mandatory to get approval from the Empowered Standing Committee (ESC) constituted by the government on October 16, 2008 vide order No. 64 of 2008, the order was issued on Friday by  Transport Commissioner & Chairman State Transport Authority, J&K,

To implement the order, all the RTO’s/ARTO’s  have been asked to intimate all Trade Certificate Holders in their respective jurisdiction to adhere to the provisions of SRO 64 in letter and spirit and ensure that no model of vehicle was sold without the approval of the Empowered Standing committee.

There are stringent punishments for the people who will violate the orders and any violation would entail a composition fee of Rs 1 lakh per vehicle from the certificate holder and would also result into suspension of the Trade Certificate till the composite fee is deposited by the holder.
