Samba DDC Inaugurates Smart Classrooms in 10 Government Schools

   

SRINAGAR: District Development Commissioner Samba Ayushi Sudan on Monday virtually inaugurated newly developed smart classrooms in 10 Government schools across the district, marking an initiative aimed at strengthening technology-enabled education in underserved areas.

The inauguration was held at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s office and was supported by NTT Data under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative and implemented by ELFA International.

Speaking on the occasion, Sudan said access to digital tools could improve attendance, increase students’ motivation and strengthen foundational competencies, particularly in hard-to-reach and underserved areas.

She appreciated NTT Data and ELFA International for supporting the initiative and urged ELFA International to continue undertaking similar projects in Samba district.

The event was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Champa Devi Thakur, Assistant Commissioner Development Rafiq Ahmad Jaral, Chief Planning Officer Kasturi Lal, Chief Education Officer Yashpal Sharma, ELFA International CEO and President Nawab Mehran Khan, Senior Vice-President Iftikhar Ahmad Mir, members of the organisation’s senior team and other dignitaries.

Ankur Dasgupta, Vice-President, Global CSR and India Marketing, NTT Data, said the company believed quality education supported by technology should be accessible to children irrespective of their geographical location or circumstances.

He said NTT Data was privileged to support ELFA International’s efforts to expand digital learning among underserved communities.
