Independent legislator representing Langate constituency was Monday afternoon attacked by right wingers in New Delhi.
Reports reaching here said that Rashid was scheduled to address a press conference at Press Club of New Delhi at 3 PM.
According to his party (AIP) statement issued to press Sunday late evening, Rashid was to speak on death of a Kashmiri trucker, Zahid Rasool Bhat, who succumbed to his burn injuries and “other issues” related to Kashmir.
TV images showed Rashid being attacked with black ink by right wingers. Rashid had organized a beef party recently following which he faced a murderous assault by BJP lawmakers in state assembly.
