Srinagar Municipal Council (SMC) conducted an extensive sanitation drive in Brari Nambal Lagoon on Tuesday. Huge quantity of garbage was removed from the lagoon.

 A statement of the SMC, said that all the Boatmen of Ward Dal who were involved for conducting the cleanliness of lagoon collected the floating garbage.

 Nearly two truckloads of garbage fished out was segregated and taken to landfill site for disposing it off.

  “The special drive was launched on the instructions of Commissioner SMC and was supervised by Chief Sanitation Officer Hakeem Aijaz Ali and Ward Officer, Ward Dal,” the statement said.
