Delhi University Professor of Kashmiri origin SAR Geelani, who was earlier acquitted in the 2001 parliament attack, was detained by Delhi Police on Saturday.
Mohammad Abdullah, father-in-law of Geelani called local news agency KNS claiming that Geelani had been picked up outside his residence in New Delhi. He said a constable from local police station informed the family that Geelani had been detained as a preventive measure and would be released soon. “When he did not return home till late in saturday evening, we again contacted the police who now claim that they do not know the whereabouts of Geelani” said the agitated relative.
