Sarwar Kashani

Kashmiri journalist Sarwar Kashani has been made the national bureau chief of Indo-Asian News Service (IANS) – India’s largest independent wire news service.

Kashani, a native of old city Srinagar  became the first Kashmiri to head the national bureau of the globally-subscribed news agency based in Noida which is one of India’s most reliable, independent and professional news wholesalers, providing content across all media platforms.

Kashani had earlier worked with IANS as a special correspondent writing on issues related to security, defence and strategic matters. He returned to Kashmir in 2013 and worked with JKEDI as a communication officer till February last year when he rejoined IANS as Senior Editor heading the Breaking New Desk of the wire service that puts out news 24×7 from India and South Asia, and covering events of interest to this region from around the world.

A post graduate in Mass Media Communication  from University of Kashmir, Kashani had worked in local Kashmir media before shifting his base to New Delhi.
